Abstract

When a geotextile is used in a civil engineering structure, it is intended to perform a particular function for a minimum expected time, called the design life. The object of the durability assessment is to provide the design engineer with the necessary information (generally defined in terms of material reduction or safety factors) so that the expected design life can be achieved with confidence.
