Abstract: It is shown that deep eutectic solvent Ethaline can be used for the process of anodic treatment of authentic stainless steel AISI 304. Anodic treatment conditions were selected under which an improvement in surface properties of steel samples is achieved. Steel samples of AISI 304 after electropolishing in Ethaline are characterized by insignificant weight loss and a significant increase in microhardness and surface hydrophobicity.
