Educational innovations during the war: the development of distance learning in Ukraine

Abstract

The article examines the current state and transformations of the higher education system in Ukraine under martial law, with a focus on the development of distance learning as a key tool for ensuring the continuity of the educational process. The dynamics of the number of educational institutions and students from 2021 to 2024, as well as the financial indicators of the institutions’ activities, are analyzed. Innovative technologies and psychological and technical support are described that ensure the effectiveness of the distance learning format. The work proposes a strategy of combining distance learning with formal employment as a mechanism for overcoming staff shortages, increasing the competitiveness of students, and preserving the country’s educational potential.
