Developing terminological competence of mechanical engineering students through ESP training

Abstract

The thesis examines the development of terminological competence of mechanical engineering students within ESP education. The study emphasizes the role of specialized terminology in forming professional communication skills and professional thinking. Particular attention is paid to the use of authentic technical materials, translation activities, contextual analysis, and active learning strategies in mastering engineering terminology. The paper highlights the importance of systematic terminology work for enhancing students’ readiness for international professional communication in the field of mechanical engineering.
